The Power of Waiting for Hunger:

The Power of Waiting for Hunger: Why It Works and How It Transforms Your Relationship with Food

If you’ve ever felt trapped by constant snacking, mindless eating, or feeling like you have to eat because it’s “time,” then this week’s Well Weekly Challenge is going to be a game-changer for you.

What Is #Intune Eating?

#Intune Eating is about getting in sync with your body’s natural hunger signals. It’s a concept I’ve been teaching for 5 years, and it’s the foundation of The Well Method. The first step? Waiting for Hunger.

Waiting for hunger means letting your stomach empty out completely before eating. Not because it’s noon or because you feel stressed—but because your body is truly asking for food.

What Does Hunger Feel Like?

Real hunger isn’t subtle. It’s that loud rumble, growling, and "hole-in-the-stomach" feeling. It’s your body’s clear sign that it needs nourishment, not just a snack to pass the time.

For many of us, waiting for that signal can take hours—especially if we have some weight to lose. And that’s okay! It’s about learning to trust that your body knows when it’s ready to eat, not when the clock says so.

Why This Method Works:

  1. Your Body Needs a Break. Our bodies are designed to have periods of rest between meals. Think of it like hitting the reset button. Fasting, even in short bursts like this, allows your body to shift focus away from digestion and into burning fat stores.

  2. You’ll Feel Full Faster When you wait for hunger, you’ll notice that you feel full faster and more satisfied. Studies have shown that people who eat when they’re truly hungry enjoy their food more and consume fewer calories overall.

  3. It’s Sustainable, No more calorie counting, macros, or complicated meal plans—just a simple, sustainable method that works. Thousands of women have used this method to lose weight and keep it off for good. It’s one of the easiest and most natural ways to manage your health without feeling restricted or overwhelmed.

The Science Behind #Intune Eating:

Doctors and health professionals are finally catching on to what thousands of women in our Well Family already know: eating when you’re truly hungry is incredibly effective for weight management.

This method allows your body to work in harmony with its own GLP-1, a hormone that helps regulate appetite and insulin levels. By giving your body a chance to get truly hungry, you’re supporting your metabolism and making it easier to lose weight naturally—without relying on shakes, pills, or restrictive diets.

Your 3-Day Challenge:

For the next 3 days, I challenge you to practice #Intune Eating. Here’s how:

  • Wait for hunger before eating.

  • When your stomach feels empty and is growling, then sit down to eat.

  • Eat slowly and savor your food. Give yourself 20 minutes to feel full.

  • Wait for hunger to return before your next meal.

The Results? You’ll notice that you eat less, feel fuller quicker, and enjoy your meals more. Most importantly, you’ll start to free yourself from the constant pull of food. You’ll discover that waiting for hunger leads to long-term weight loss without the need for calorie counting, points, or complicated plans.

Freedom from Food. This challenge is just one piece of the larger Well Method puzzle, which I’ll dive into in-depth during Mondays with Lisa. If you want to know more about how this method can transform your relationship with food and help you lose weight for good, join me starting October 28th.
